Aubade

"To see God only, I go out of sight:
And to scape stormy days, I choose
An everlasting night."

As night falls,
He comes slowly, but
With an insistence beyond my ken,
Insisting on things
That when day dawns
I push beyond my limited sight
Waiting again on the dusk
When He is come again to
Harass, to caress,
To imprison, to claim,
Each time, again,
As he always does,
But only,
As night falls.

It feels unfinished...maybe good that way...not as bad as you were saying it was. Maybe just because you are unsatisfied. As we always are.

Me? I love it. It says what it needs to. And that's how I find myself each night as I lie awake in my berthing. So, i think it's perfect actually.

What I like most about it is its musical quality. It’s a poem I can listen to.

One sentence...to expressed a sigh of the soul. Well done.
